BIOGRAPHY

JOE SIB — Comedian

Bristling with kinetic energy, with a mouthful of punk rock oral tradition always at the ready, comedian and storyteller JOE SIB brings a lifetime of subculture experience to the stage. A self-starting DIY machine, the California native has been both participant and passerby for some of the most important moments in the underground, like a Forrest Gump of punk rock. He was putting on magic shows by age ten, part of the legendary South Bay skateboarding scene in his teens (the same crew that produced Steve Caballero and Corey O’Brien, among others) and signed to a major label in his twenties. In 1995, JOE co-founded SideOneDummy Records, unleashing Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, the Gaslight Anthem, and every Warped Tour compilation. A former radio DJ at the same Los Angeles station that was home to Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols and Henry Rollins, today JOE SIB keeps the conversation going with audiences, in clubs and amphitheaters, sharing the stage with fellow comics and friends like Jim Breuer, or warming up the crowd for Metallica. Wherever his muse may lead him, punk rock parent and restless troubadour JOE SIB is always ready, armed with good cheer, good humor, and a library’s worth of spellbinding stories to share.
